Red Sox vs. Orioles 04-09-06

This game was a lot better than the last outing for Tim Wakefield, a complete 180, one that he needed considering you normally do not see Wake bomb that bad. Wake went 6 innings allowing an unearned run in the first and thats it. With men on First and Third in the sixth, Wakefield struck out the side, taking down Corey Patterson followed by David Newhan and finally closing the inning striking out Luis Matos swinging. That ended the day for him, but I think it was the right time to pull him.

Nixon, LorettaNixon, Snow and Gonzalez walked in the sixth loading the bases for Adam Stern who was taking over for Coco Crisp after hurting his finger earlier in the game. Stern hit the ball to the first basemen, Kevin Millar who couldn’t make the play allowing Nixon to score making it 3-1 Sox followed by an RBI by Mark Loretta increasing the score to 4-1.

Wakefield (1-1)
Record (5-1)
