2007 Rose Bowl: USC vs. Michigan

The 93rd Rose Bowl Game from Pasadena, California.



The start of the game was very slow and the first points scored were not until the last 5 minutes of the 1st quarter and it was a USC field goal. The score was tied 3-3 five minutes into the second quarter when USC started to drive deep into the Michigan territory and USC fumbled the ball giving Michigan a chance to take the lead, but they were unable to convert. The score remained the same for the rest of the quarter going into the second half.

USC in the 3rd quarter went for the trophy by scoring two consecutive unanswered touchdowns making it 16-3. Then with Michigan on their own 31 yard line, they fumbled the ball with about 3 minutes to play in the quarter. In the final minute of the 3rd, USC went for the end zone and after being challenged, the play was ruled incomplete. Instead of the TD, USC was forced to kick a successful field goal.

In the 4th quarter, Michigan drove up the field and after a “roughing the passer” penalty, Michigan threw their first TD. They choose to go for the two-point conversion and succeeded making the score 19-11. USC threw a 62 yard TD pass but failed to put the extra point through the uprights making the score 25-11. Michigan had 4th down and 11 to get a first down and failed to do so. USC took over at their own 15 yard line with 8 minutes remaining in the game. USC dominated in the passing game passing for 26, 29 and 23 yards and finally passed for 10 yards into the end zone for another TD making USC on top 32-11. With 6 minutes left in the game, the USC Trojans in the second half passed 28 times and ran it 4 times. Michigan put another 7 points up on the board with 1 minute and 9 seconds left in the game.

USC won the 2007 Rose Bowl 32-18, Congratulations to Pete Carroll and the rest of the USC Trojans.
