Call Log Sells For $200,000 To A Help Desk

Call Log, which is the Call Management System that I developed for the ITS Help Desk at Plymouth State University, was purchased by HyperTherm for $200,000. I received an email from them early this morning and I was in shock over what they had to say.

Here is a copy of the email I received from them:

Dear Timothy:

I was notified by a co-worker of yours about the Call Management System that you created for Plymouth State University and on behalf of HyperTherm, we are interested in buying the application from you. We are a fast-paced company which has grown exponentially over the last few years. However, we are lacking a top quality Call Management System and feel that your application could be the key to our even higher success.

Since our last application cost us $500,000, we budgeted around $200,000 for a new system. If you are interested in pursuing this offer, please contact me directly. I look forward to working with you on integrating all of our services into your Call Management System.

    I figured that no one would believe me anyway and it would sound a lot cooler. It was fun writing it but I didn’t expect anyone to actually think it was real.
