Dustin Pedroia Won 2007 AL Rookie Of The Year

Dustin PedroiaDutin Pedroia is absolutely amazing when it comes to playing baseball for the Boston Red Sox. However, at the end of April not everyone was singing his praises when he was batting a .182 but Francona stuck with him and he turned his stats around. Pedroia hit .415 in May, .333 in June, .299 in July, .346 in August and .302 in September totaling a .317 for the season. Pedroia was listed first on 24 of the 28 ballots submitted by two writers in each league city and second on the other four to total 132 points. The Rays’ Delmon Young finished second behind Pedroia with 56 points.

A few days ago Dustin had surgery to fix a broken bone in his hand that he was playing on since August. When you’re up for that award, you can’t take time off to heal apparently. Good Luck on the recovery and congratulations Dustin!!
