Today I called Verizon Fios to have them reset our box outside from their end and the tech support guy was pretty funny. When I first called, their was a long wait, so I activated my bluetooth headset and waited on the line. When he finally picked up, I guess there was some interference in me speaking and he couldn’t hear me. I deactivated my headset and asked “Can you hear me now” and he said “yes” and I then followed with “Good!”. However, he didn’t quite get the reference because he stated, “Oh, that’s funny…like the commercial.” The part that I find funny is I called Verizon (the commercial, if you don’t understand). I know that it is Verizon Wireless and not Verizon Fios, but they are owned by the same company.
Later in the conversation, he told me that if I needed to make a “land line” phone call until it gets fixed tomorrow (Monday), we can plug the phone in outside. I waited a few seconds and then asked where he was from, his response: “Southern California”. I then explained that Boston just got hit with a massive snow storm the other day and the temperature is very cold. He forgot that not everyone lives in California.
All in all, it was an alright conversation even though both my problems weren’t fixed, but they should be tomorrow.
