Family Yard Sale And "Spring" Cleaning All Day

Today, my mother, my sisters, my brother-in-laws and I had a yard sale to get rid of everything that we didn’t need since we are selling our house. We were up at 6:30am and it lasted until 4pm when we broke the yard sale down and transported all of what didn’t sell to the Salvation Army. We met some really nice people who enjoyed a lot of our old stuff. One girl loved everything about my sister’s old room, that she bought her dresser, mirrors, chest and plant. It was quite interesting to see how we got all of that to fit inside of their car.

After the yard sale was over, I went up to my room (still living at home until we sell the house so I can help my mom) and cleaned almost everything. I got rid of tons of junk that I kept over the years and what i brought home from college. I also made out pretty well at the yard sale myself. My brother-in-law brought over some of his stuff to sell and before we had any potential buyers, I went through and took out what I wanted. I got 3 DVDs, 3 PS2 games (just to have, my Wii is still the number 1 console) and a new stereo system. My old stereo system has some issues and wouldn’t connect to surround sound. At least I was able to get rid of a lot of my stuff so it will be easier when I move.

Sounds fun and like it went well. I use a FREE online garage sale and keep things listed until they sell. Almost always I have garage sale items left over from my sale, so I post them online until the buyers find them. You never know when someone is looking for a particular item. Sometimes I have a unique thing and it just takes a little longer than an auction.

    Good luck
