You write that you run Varnish on all of your servers. However it is unclear to me what benefits you get from Varnish without a properly configured VCL file. I mean the stuff you mention above that you had to add for Joomla to work is very partial. A lot more configuration is required before Joomla can indeed work “as intended” while still getting the benefits from Varnish.

It is my opinion that the Joomla authors ought to distribute it with a short set of rules that a person running Varnish can include into their VCL to “properly” accelerate a Joomla site. I say this because they seem to have made it especially difficult for Joomla to be cached by products such as Varnish.

Hello, I was wondering how you would write the date in Armenian . In English we can abbreviate the date such as October 29, 2011 by writing 10/29/11 or 10.29.11 . Is there a proper way of abbreviating this date in Armenian? I would like to use my wedding date for something but I would like to have it in Armenian . Our date is 10-29-11. Thanks for your help!

Hi Tim, Think of the phrase ” It’s never too late.” I congratulate you for making Eagle, ( I never knew). I was there for Keith Allard’s Eagle ceremony but never saw yours. You are undoubtedly the last Eagle Scout of Troop 44. I don’t know why Buddy Bennett never told me. I’m sorry I missed it. Tim, stay proud of both your Armenian heritage and your achieving the highest rank in Scouting. I went to Somerville High with Robert Harotunian, he was a nice kid. He may or may not be related to you but Bob was a friend back then. I worked for Polaroid Corporation for years and another good friend of mine is Marty Boujicanian. I was Marty’s best man at his wedding to Karen. The next time I write to Marty, ( he now lives in Las Vegas ) I’ll include the Armenian coat of arms.
