Armenians Protest Being Called Arminians

Arminianism holds to the following beliefs: Humans are naturally unable to make any effort towards salvation Salvation is possible by grace alone Works of human effort cannot cause or contribute to salvation God’s election is conditional on faith in Jesus Jesus’ atonement was for all people God allows his grace to be resisted by those unwilling to believe Salvation can be lost, as continued salvation is conditional upon continued faith This is 100% different in the Armenian Church and that is why Armenians are protesting against being perceived as such.

Holy Week: Good Friday

Holy Friday Holy Friday (In Armenia, High Friday: Ավագ ???բաթ) is the most solemn and sad day for Christians. It is likely that the name “Good Friday” came from the earlier English name, “Godes Friday,” meaning “God’s Friday.”

Lent: Poon Paregentan (1st Sunday)

Lent gives us the opportunity to: *Renew our commitment to God *Reflect on our lives and be directed by God *Respond to Jesus’ call for love and mercy toward all of God’s children Lent is a special time in the year when we guard against worldly distractions and make room for the Holy Spirit to fill us.

Merry Christmas

This is the other of my favorite Christmas songs: Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose Yuletide carols being sung by a choir, and folks dressed up like Eskimos Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe (will) help to make the season bright Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight They know that Santa’s on his way, He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh And every mother’s child is gonna spy to see if reindeer really know how to fly And so I’m offering this simple phrase, to kids from one to ninety-two Although it’s been said, many times, many ways: “Merry Christmas to you.”
