Red Sox Get Swept By Angels, Unable To Produce Enough Runs

Beckett continued to have trouble in the sixth, so much so that the Angels landed a knockout punch. Jeff Mathis followed with an RBI double and after a Chone Figgins single, Beckett was lifted in favor of Manny Delcarmen.

Jon Lester Throws No Hitter At Fenway Park Tonight

Didn’t I just write about a Red Sox no hitter last season? Still with two outs, Lowell hit a pop fly to the 2nd baseman which should have ended the inning, but he mis-judged the wind and the ball fell bringing in two more runs making it 4-0.

Red Sox vs. Yankees (Game 1) – August 28, 2007

Yesterday, the Yankees lost to the Tigers 16-0 making the Red Sox lead in the AL East 8 games, unfortunately for the Red Sox, the difference in game 1 was the former Boston favorite Johnny Damon. Granted the Red Sox lead is still 7 games in the East, but it would have been nice to take a game 1 win making it a 9 game lead.
